This small canal cruise in Amsterdam takes you through the UNESCO-listed canal belt as the city settles into evening. The boat is fully electric, quiet enough that you can hear the water against the hull and the occasional church bell from the Westerkerk. With a maximum of twelve guests, there is space to stretch out, find a comfortable seat, and watch the gabled canal houses catch the last of the light.
The Amsterdam Evening Boat Tour runs for ninety minutes, departing from Nieuwe Keizersgracht. Your captain knows these waterways well and steers through both the main canals — Singel, Herengracht, Keizersgracht, Prinsengracht — and the narrower passages of the Jordaan district, where the bridges sit lower and the atmosphere feels a little more private. You will pass the Anne Frank House, the Seven Bridges Canal, the Munt Tower, and the Magere Brug, though the pace is unhurried enough that nothing feels like a checklist.
There is a bar on board serving drinks at regular café prices, and you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Snacks are BYO as well. Blankets are provided, and a rain canopy keeps things dry if the weather turns. The boat cannot accommodate wheelchairs, but one dog is welcome per cruise if you select the Furry Friend option at booking. Free cancellation applies up to 24 hours before departure.

We were lucky to have lovely people with us too, from Canada and New Zealand (via Australia!) who helped to make this our favourite part of our Amsterdam trip. His information and knowledge really made the trip enjoyable and because it was a small boat we really had a great time with the other passengers along the way.
