Pure Spirit is the largest boat in the Boat Local fleet, a nine-metre electric sloep with space for up to twenty guests. The finish is notably high-end for a shared Amsterdam canal cruise: mahogany detailing, a marble bar with slide-out fridge, teak decking that wouldn't look out of place on something much larger. You'll join a small group for a 1.5, 2, or 3-hour cruise through the city's canal ring, departing from Keizersgracht in the centre.
The layout on Pure Spirit is designed around lounging rather than rows of seats. There's a sunbed at the back, spacious seating throughout, and a pop-up canopy for shade or shelter when the weather turns. Warm blankets are provided in cooler months, and there's a toilet on board — a practical detail that matters on longer cruises. The boat runs electric, so the ride is quiet enough to hold a conversation without raising your voice.
An open bar is available to add for fifteen euros per person per hour, and you can arrange champagne from Piper-Heidsieck, Veuve Clicquot, or Ruinart if you want something to mark the occasion. Food options include a snack platter, cheese for two, or freshly baked apple pie — all arranged through the chat after booking. A live guide is on board throughout, pointing out what you're passing and filling in the stories behind the buildings along the water.

“What a fantastic afternoon on the Danique! We live in Amsterdam ourselves, so you’d think we’ve seen the canals by now… but apparently not like this 😄 We had such a fun mix of Londoners and Americans on board, amazing weather, seriously good drinks and delicious sharing platters. But the absolute star of the tour was our skipper Floris — he was BRILLIANT! He seems to know absolutely everything about Amsterdam, including all the weird, funny little details you never hear about. And while casually telling us all these stories, he was navigating the Danique through the canals — half the time backwards — as if it was the easiest thing in the world 😂 Great atmosphere, great boat, great food & drinks and an even better skipper.
