The Bulldog Boat Tour extends the Bulldog brand's 'living room of Amsterdam' philosophy onto the water — the same relaxed, no-judgment atmosphere Henk de Vries built at Amsterdam's first coffeeshop in 1975, now aboard an electric canal boat. It's one of the few smoking-friendly cruises in the city, running about an hour from Central Station with an English-speaking local guide and two drinks per person included.

    “A nice tour to go on because you are allowed to smoke. You get 2 free drinks and have to bring your own smoke, they done supply any. The boat will only get to the doc around 15 min before departure so just wait in the area. I would have like a bit more info on the smaller old buildings and what they are used for. We mostly went over the big ones.”

    “I'm afraid I cannot recommend to go. First of all there is no sign, we went early to make sure we didn't miss and no clue this was the departure point. L More importantly once on the boat there was an Italian gentleman with his friend who wanted to make the cruise unpleasant for all. Every time the guide tried to speak, he immediately shouted over him to try to cause a problem. Every time. He also spoke about other passengers being annoyed by him and tried to insist that we also need to listen to house music very loud. Now I know it is not the fault of the operator that the passenger is terrible, but they did nothing about it but to smile and shrug. The crew also spent more time talking to each and than us, maybe because of this passenger. For the benefit of the other passengers I would expect they have a process on how to handle such a person and I would find it hard to believe that process is just to ignore Absolutely not worth the money for that reason. Disappointed.”
